This is the second year running that the company has won an award at this prestigious annual event.
Homes Overseas Magazine is the UK's leading overseas property title focused on UK residents interested in purchasing property overseas. The Daily Telegraph, Britain's number one selling quality daily newspaper is the sponsor of the Homes Overseas Magazine Awards and also provides a number of the judges who determine the winners.
The Homes Overseas Magazine Awards 2006, recognised and rewarded the very best in international real estate and showcased the finest new international properties across the seven most popular destinations for Britons buying abroad: Cyprus, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and its islands, South Africa, Canada and the USA (Florida).
Judges for the Homes Overseas Magazine Awards include members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), respected property journalists and technical experts. Uniquely, these judges travel the world to assess short listed developments and awarding Gold, Silver and Bronze accolades to those of outstanding design, location and value for money.
Categories for the Homes Overseas Magazine Awards include special Awards for each country, and interest categories such as Best Golf development, Best Retirement development and Most Environmentally Aware development. There is also a single prize for Developer of the Year, open to all territories. General categories, as well as being open to the above territories, are now open to the rest of the world, and amongst these 23 hotly contested awards there are specific awards for 'best luxury development' 'best interior design' and 'best use of technology' in the world.
The 'best luxury development' award recognizes a top of the range development with no expense spared on design, finish, landscaping, security and customer care. The development should offer value for money, albeit at the higher end of the price range, and should reflect the highest quality standards demanded by luxury customers. In 2005 Dubai Luxury Homes won the gold award in this category for their entry Andalucia at the Emirates Hills. Their 2006 entry of Le Reve in Dubai Marina equally impressed the visiting judges, securing the Gold award in this category.
Dubai is well known for its spectacular architectural designs and perhaps less so for some of the equally impressive interiors. Dubai Luxury Homes also entered Le Reve for the category 'best interior design'. Not only does this award seek to reward the 'wow' factor in the property's interior design, it also takes into account effective use of interior space, including ingenuity with space-saving. The judges, a leading interior designer from the UK awarded the entry the Gold award.
With technology becoming more of an integral part of our homes, Le Reve was entered into the 'best use of technology' category by Dubai Luxury Homes. This award recognises the home of the future, now. A property could qualify for this award if it is suitably geared to the needs of hi-tech modern living, both inside and out. The entry again impressed the visiting judges and Dubai Luxury Homes collected their third award, Silver, in this category.
Dubai continues to remain in the international spotlight and receives ongoing interest from purchasers residing overseas. The Homes Overseas Awards are widely recognized as the most respected in the industry and the management of staff at both Dubai Luxury Homes and Le Reve are delighted to have been so successful in the three categories in which they had an entry. The awards receive extensive coverage throughout the UK and will almost undoubtedly help to encourage continued interest in what is an exciting market.
